Femke van Hilten

I am currently a research assistent in the Emerging Standards project. I graduated from the Bachelor Language and Culture Studies with specialism Middle Ages in 2012. As part of my Bachelor I did an internship at the Special Collections department at the Utrecht University Library where I collaborated on a catalogue of Middle Dutch manuscripts held in this library. In 2013 I received a Master’s degree after successfully completing the academic Medieval and Renaissance Studies programme at Utrecht University.

In the Emerging Standards project my main interest is medieval paleography and how to apply digital tools in manuscript research. To me transcribing medieval script and learning new methods like TEI are like solving challenging puzzles.

Apart from this project I am involved in various event organisations and I love to travel the world.
